Director of Golf at Sara Bay Country Club and PGA Professional Daren King demonstrates how to hit a high lofted chip shot.
In golf, chips are short shots played around the greens with any golf club from a 5-iron to a sand wedge.
The basic idea is to get the ball on the green and rolling as soon as you can. If you get the ball running like a putt, you can more easily judge how far it’ll go.
In this golf tip, PGA Professional Deran King shows you how to make the high lofted chip shot using a flatter swing and keeping the shaft back during impact. This will result in a more lofted shot and lessens the chance of chunking the ball.
